Healing in 2009

I was at a dinner party last night and we were talking about our hopes for 2009.  As we went around the table talking the consistent theme was that this next year is going to be a significant one.  One person talked about family relationships, another about living an “uncluttered life” and another about personal balance.  In the end one friend piped up and said, “Everyone I have talked to seems to believe 2009 will be a time healing.” It is hard to deny that 2008 was a tough year.  It was a gloomy time on the national front.  It seems that all trust had been lost in the government’s ability to care for our national and global responsibilities.  It was also hard on the financial front as we watched the economy struggle significantly and unemployment increase.  I know that we have watched friends struggle to find work, fight to pay bills and even accept bankruptcy. From our standpoint it was staggering on the housing front as the over-leveraged and over-manipulated property value and mortgage world began to settle back to sanity. How does the New Year feel to you?  With a new president in Washington, all flush with “hope” and “change” and an economy that is struggling back to life?  How about your personal life, occupation and financial story?  Hope? It does seem like the skies may be changing.  There may be a cleaning rain on the horizon and maybe, just maybe we will see the spring once again. That is our sincere hope for you.
