spending plans
Our Mortgage Trust colleague and friend Evan Swanson has raised the bar when it comes to following and writing on economic factors that influence the mortgage market. His blog My Mind on Mortgages has been a great industry resource to us and is recommended to anyone wanting a financing industry perspective pertaining to real estate and mortgages.
Evan recently wrote on the subject of budgeting. We agree when he says, “At the root of success or failure regarding a household’s finances is how well they control their spending”. In one blog post he points us in the direction of an interesting Kipplinger article on “six principles to a fulfilling financial life no matter how little you have”. In a second post he summarizes a good Wall Street Journal article on spending plans and includes some thoughts on tools to help track spending.
Check these out and let us know what you think! And if you have not read our article on the topic, “Real Wealth and Personal Justice”, download it here.
